Measures to Prevent Global Warming
Initiatives to Reduce Energy Use
Led by the Sanbongi factory, our main production site, we actively work to reduce energy usage to prevent global warming.
We reduce energy use by turning off the lights during breaks and reducing the use of air conditioners as well as systematically upgrading facilities to ones that are more energy efficient (i.e., upgrading the A/C equipment of our clean rooms).
By improving production efficiency, we have reduced the amount of energy consumed to process reclaimed wafers. Our efforts have been ranked as Level S in the enterprise classification and assessment system of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Initiatives to ReduceCO2Emissions
We work to reduce CO2 emissions by cutting energy consumption at the factory. From 2012 to 2019, CO2 emitted from the production of a single 200 mm and 300 mm reclaimed wafer product was reduced by roughly 45% and 56%, respectively.
Contribution to Renewable Energy
We contribute to the use of renewable energy by installing solar power generation systems and making effective use of the site of Sanbongi factory.
The solar power generation systems were installed in 2013, which have been generating electricity. Its maximum power generation capacity is currently 1.5 MW.
